Capturing the best of love, and the people it consumes, is my passion. I believe there is no better gift I can give you than to photograph the honest, real moments in your life in an artistic and beautiful way. It's an honor for me to be chosen to help tell the story of one of the most important times in your life through photography. I take that honor very seriously…the fact that I also happen to have a really, really good time while we’re at it is just, well, icing on the cake. I love experiencing the emotions of your day right alongside you, laughing, celebrating joy, and even shedding the occasional tear. I'm a romantic. Hopelessly so. You can see it in the pictures I take. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that I've captured the heart and soul of someone’s story...hopefully yours.
BACKGROUND
I started out my career in Graphic Design, working as an art director in Nashville, TN. Returning to school in Atlanta, GA for commercial photography, I never thought I would be shooting weddings one day. I moved to NYC with [my husband, Chris] after school, and started shooting weddings occasionally. Within a few months, I realized that celebrations were my thing. I absolutely love what I do and I am so thankful that I've been able to do it for a living. Check out the Accolades section of the site to check out what others think.
APPROACH
It all comes down to the story. Your story. Focusing on artistic portraiture, special moments, and exquisite attention to detail, I tell that story by taking a documentary approach with my work. I stay aware of the events unfolding so I can capture the natural moments between you and your loved ones. I direct when needed, but know when to step back and blend in when appropriate. My goal is to help you relax and feel comfortable in front of my cameras. Because trends come and go so quickly, retouching and coloring is minimal. I strive to create lovely, meaningful, lasting imagery that you and your family will enjoy for years to come.
YOUR WEDDING DAY
A great deal of planning has gone into your wedding or special event. Having a plan is equally important to me, and so I would love to be involved in the scheduling of your day. I work with you to understand your schedule and your needs, and arrive early to scout your location so I can smoothly guide you through the process. My preparation helps me to merge the work seamlessly with the events of your day.
SESSIONS
For our couple and family sessions, I will work with you to choose a location that is both meaningful and photo-worthy. I'll give you suggestions on wardrobe, or connect you with a stylist so you'll look your best. Once the day of the session comes, we'll have such a good time hanging out, you might forget you're having your photo taken!
